About

A slow Sunday, a coffee, and too many colours.

Hi, I'm Inês, the creative nerd who created this studio (and BéKa Studio).

Never in a million years would I have said I'd end up on the creative path. I'm the daughter of an accountant, and trust me, since I was little I said I wanted to follow in my dad's footsteps. Spreadsheets, structure, a nice predictable career. Life laughed at that plan.

I went through a hellish marriage and came out the other side a single mom, which is its own full-time job before you even get to the one that pays. So I did what a lot of us do, I burned myself out working just to keep everything standing. Last year, it caught up with me. Burnout. Not exactly on the five-year plan, but it was the wake-up call I needed to actually change something instead of just surviving it.

I started drawing to relax, because apparently my brain needed something to do that wasn't a spreadsheet or a crisis. It began with coloring books, which, fine, laugh all you want, but then I found patterns, and something clicked. Turns out my very literal, very mathematical brain is weirdly perfect for repeats and tiling and getting a colour palette to behave. Who knew accountant brain and pattern brain were basically cousins. It became my escape from how hard everything else was.

I quit my 9 to 5 to focus on healing and on actually building the thing I loved. Sunday Morning existed back then too, but I put it on a shelf for a while, not because I stopped loving it, but because the whole Etsy and Shopify listing grind felt like exactly the kind of joyless admin I was trying to get away from.

Somewhere in there I taught myself to build websites and apps, which turned into BéKa Studio. And once that started actually working, I realized the obvious next step: stop renting space on someone else's platform and just build Sunday Morning the way I actually wanted it, my own site, my own app, no middleman telling me how my own shop should look.

My brand started on a Sunday morning, half asleep with a coffee and too many colours open on my screen. I want to hand you a little bit of that same feeling: a slow morning, good light, and a genuinely unreasonable amount of colour to play with.
